My name is David, and I am 41 years old. A few years ago, I discovered my passion for cooking after being diagnosed with Cone Dystrophy and experiencing a decline in my eyesight. Cooking became my escape and a hobby through which I could channel the anger and frustration I felt towards my impairment. Over the past four years, I have honed my skills in bread making, BBQing, preparing meats, and baking. Additionally, I have become adept at creating gluten-free cookies, pizza doughs, and meals to accommodate a family member with a gluten allergy.
Dealing with the challenges of cooking for someone with a gluten allergy has not been easy, but I am determined to ensure that they can still enjoy the meals and snacks I prepare. Despite facing struggles and almost giving up on cooking in the past year, I have realized the importance of focusing on this passion. Spending more time baking, grilling, and cooking not only distracts me from negative thoughts but also helps me combat feelings of depression and anxiety. I am committed to continuing this journey and sharing recipes that bring joy to others.
Join me on this culinary adventure, where I aim to inspire and provide recipes that everyone can enjoy. Cooking has become more than just a hobby for me; it is a form of therapy and a way to connect with others through shared meals. Through my experiences and dedication to cooking, I hope to encourage others to explore their own passions and find solace in the kitchen. Let’s cook together and create delicious dishes that bring happiness and fulfillment to all who partake
